HER EXCELLENCY MRS. ANYIN CHOO

BIODATA

 

Her Excellency AnyinChoo commenced her career in the Foreign Service in 2000, where she was assigned to the Economic Affairs Department and later to the Department of International Cooperation. In 2006, she was appointed Director of International Cooperation within the Ministry of Foreign Trade and International Cooperation.


Her Excellency served as Chargé d’ Affaires (a.i) at the Embassy of Guyana in Beijing from 2008 to 2010 and later as Deputy Head of Mission until 2011.  On her return to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs she was appointed Head of the Diaspora Unit until March 2017. Subsequently, she was appointed as Director of Foreign Trade until her appointment as Guyana’s Consul General to Toronto, Canada in February 2018 to March 2021.


Her Excellency AnyinChoo was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Cooperative Republic Guyana to the People’s Republic of China in March 2021.


Other Roles
Her Excellency has served on the Board of Directors of the St Rose’s High School, the Guyana Office for Investment (Go-Invest) and the New Guyana Marketing Cooperation.


Education
Her Excellency holds a MBA in Business Administration from the Australian Institute of Business, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Languages from the Beijing Language and Culture University and a Diploma in Computer Science from the University of Guyana. She attended the St. Roses High School, where she graduated as valedictorian in 1992.


Her Excellency is married with three children.
