The Embassy of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana in Beijing is the official representation of the Government of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana in the People’s Republic of China.

The Embassy is tasked with strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the Governments and peoples of Guyana and China and is dedicated to promoting, preserving and protecting the image and interests of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana and its citizens residing in China and all other countries to which it is accredited.

It works in collaboration with all other foreign Missions in pursuit of these objectives and to promote the spirit of solidarity, friendship and cooperation among all nations.

Other tasks and responsibilities of the Mission include:

To promote bilateral political, cultural and economic exchanges between Guyana and China;

To provide efficient visa and consular services to foreigners and Guyanese citizens;

To provide prompt and reliable information on Guyana to Guyanese and other nationals in an effort to promote investment and tourism and to encourage their participation in the country’s economic development;

To participate in trade and investment fairs on behalf of the Government of Guyana and to seek opportunities for the expansion of trade and cooperation in the cultural, scientific and technological fields;

To provide the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Government of the Republic of Guyana with accurate economic, political and security information to ensure the efficient  execution of Government’s foreign policy (and other) objectives.

The Chancery

The Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, following the formal establishment of diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China on June 27, 1972, established its Embassy in Beijing during October 1973.
